The Quazik View: A View to View
Welcome to the House of Learning... Living life day to day...

On the nature of University Education.

Before reading this latest post, I would like to state that it is more of an educational rant, than a real discussion on or solution to any issues.

You see... people are quick to think that maybe life is some sort of progression, towards an ultimate end goal... thinking that yes, they went to elementary school, then to middle school, then to high school; the number on the grade kept going up so they thought maybe I'm moving forward, when in reality you were just aging and walking to school every morning.

However, I am in no way attacking a school system; because I can obviously agree with anyone that at least until some sort of mental and physical maturity, we should let children have a freer life, at least in theory aimed at education and furthering ones self.

And so my critique involves University Education. You see, to the government, at the age of 18, you become a worthless equal citizen like everyone else; luckily most of us have parents to hide behind until the age you actually are ready to be in reality.

Now, you see you are an adult, and once you get that Bachelor's Degree, you're going to be using that same piece of crap paper, to get every job you will ever try for in your life, for obvious reasons. Although you may have earned that paper when you were 22, at age 51 you will still be flaunting that same piece of paper.

For you see, the difference between making $14,000 a year on average and $45,000 on average, is a university degree. Now I will stop that point there, because this post is aimed at people already in or going into Post-Secondary education.

For you see, within your educational career, your marks are your past work experiences and determine the route of your progression. But more importantly, the thing to realize is that each specific mark you attain in your university career is one more token of plus or minus value.

Meaning, if you got a C, it's obviously less valuable than an A would have been in that class. Imagine your list of courses and grades, and instead of those C's, there were A's. It would be much better. But obviousness aside, my point aims to state that each good mark that YOU get, is a BETTER THING for YOU. Whereas each bad mark that YOU get is a BAD THING for YOU.

Because, most first jobs you get after graduation will hire you based on your university GPA. And basically, that job will entail where you will be headed in your career path. What is your career path? It's what you will be doing, forever. So what does that mean? I guess it means that the higher your GPA is, the better the job you will get is.

More importantly, for anyone pursuing any post Bachelor's education, your GPA is the most important thing, it will actually determine whether you will get in or not!... -_-

Now I would like to end this abruptly... and what I aim to state is that, your ENTIRE FUTURE (not that seriously) rests on your GPA... What does your GPA rest on?

Well obviously, it depends on your marks, and how do you get a good GPA that is based on marks?

It's too easy: Getting the actual highest mark you can, in one class... and then in another class. And then summer time comes and you're like drunk and high for a few months. September comes, and you just get a few more high marks. You go to Cuba for winter break. Get like 4 more A's.

and.... Voila: You're in Law School. Now just get like 12 more B's, and you'll be making like $110,000 a year. All this, in a span of 4 years of undergrad that will change you from making $15,000 a year to the aforementioned $110,000 a year. Why again? Cuz this motherfucker got some A's and you didn't you lazy motherfucker. Are you down?

Now, I will break you down the last 3 major periods of my life into simple phrases: High School: Skipped class, Chilled, Got A's... University: Skipped class, Chilled, Blazed, Got B's... Working Life: Worked 6 days a week 50 hours a week. $4000 In debt. $11.50/hour.

So, wait, you're telling me people's parents pay for their "kids" to go to a university campus, buy expensive food, chill all day and do no work and probably make them end up making $30,000 more a year for the rest of their life? And yet the only real reason half of these kids are even trying to stay in school is so their parents won't get mad?

I will now break down to you the next one major period in my life: Working as a Lawyer: Court 3 days a week, $158,000 a year, retiring at age 38, Chilling 4 days a week.

What is the key difference between me working as a Lawyer? Versus me working at Wal-mart? I think it was the Law Degree. I also think that Law Degree was simply me getting more A's than the other guys who applied. Yes I think so.

But fuck that... in conclusion... get the highest mark in each class you're in... or you can go fuck yourself and be unemployed. Cuz, one day you're gonna move out, you better hope your making more than $40, 000 when that happens. And the simple fact is, it's literally in your own hands, and it's as simple as getting the highest mark you can in each class. And you know who's gonna care if you don't get high marks? No one, but the point is you're the one that's fucked.

Cuz the actions you partake in now are your adult actions, and they will fucking change your entire adult life.

And I don't care if someone wants to say well we all already knew this obvious shit... Well... So either do it, or don't do it... I didn't care either way. Cuz I'm already doing it. HAHA. Peace.

And this rant is done... go on Facebook or something you time wasting bastards. :P
